Basic Home Improvement Toolbox
In some point of time, you will have to deal with a busted pipe in the bath, a leak on the rooftop, or a broken door knob. No worry, there are home maintenance experts who can help you with the matter. However, while the experts are available to do the necessary fixes for your home, it is not practical to give the job to them every time, especially if what you just wanted to mend is a broken hedge in your front yard. You have to get your hands a little dirty some times and take care of your home on your own. This is not so hard than you might think it, especially if you have the right tools. Here are basic home improvement tools that you must have in your toolbox.
1. Hammer - you actually do not need power tools like automatic nail; a hand-powered nail hammer will do the job for you. There several varieties of nail hammer, but the most important thing is to pick one that feels comfortable and well-balanced on your grip.
2. Screw drivers - as you might have noticed, screws are commonly used to lock things in place or together. Thus, in your tool box, you must at least have a set of basic screw drivers. Your screw driver set should include small and medium-sized slotted driver (flat or straight) and Phillips (cross head).
3. Gripping tools - you will also need gripping tools such as adjustable wrench for tightening and loosening bolts, standard pliers for bending wires, and cutting pliers for snipping wires.
4. Tape measure - choose a tape that is at least one-inch wide for a good stand up. This will come handy if you are working all by yourself and there is no one to grab the other end of the tape.
